Key West is an island city that holds so much adventure to be experienced on and offshore; so why not get a Key West scooter rental? There is so much to do and see in Key West and a scooter is the best way to take it all in. With the beautiful scenery and fun stops, visitors and residents prefer to explore the city while cycling or riding scooters. Renting a scooter in Key West is easy when you have a valid license and rent from a reputable company like A&M Rentals. If you are going on a scooter ride in Key West, here are some of the best spots to check out on your ride.

From the Northside:

Kick-off your adventure at the aesthetic North Roosevelt Boulevard with palm trees lining the sidewalk. Keep going till you get to the Gulf of Mexico and go past the retail district of Key West (where you can visit later to do some shopping). Your next stop will be the charming historic spot known as Old Town. And that’s when your adventure really starts.

Garrison Bight

At the gateway to Old Town, you’ll find Garrison Bight, a working waterfront. Complete with brightly painted houseboats and fishing charters, the waterfront offers a stunning view.

Key West Cemetery

By the time you ride into the heart of Old Town, you will spot the Key West Cemetery. If you are not opposed to the idea, you can check out this spot as it is the highest naturally occurring point on the island. You can park your scooter and make a quick stop here with the self-guided map directing you to historic gravestones. The Key West Cemetery gates open at 7 a.m and close at 7 p.m in summer, and 6 p.m during winter.

Green Parrot Bar

After stopping at the Key West Cemetery or riding down from Garrison Bight, you can head to the Green Parrot. Keeping in tune with the trend at Old Town, this bar has been established since 1890. If you are lucky to be riding around town on a weekend, you’ll have live music entertainment at the Green Parrot Bar.

Truman Little White House

A significant part of Key West’s charm comes from its history. Down the road from Key West Annex Park, which is another great spot to check out, is Truman Little White House. This museum is the former winter white house of President Harry S. Truman.Take a guided tour at a glimpse of history before getting back on your scooter.

Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum

From a former president to the most famous Key West resident. Connect Whitehead Street from Truman Little White House and on the stretch of road, you will find the former residence of Ernest Hemingway. Between 1931-1939, when he wrote ‘The snows of Kilimanjaro’ and ‘To Have and Have Not,’ Hemingway lived in Key West. After the guided tour of this home turned museum, you can spot the iconic 73-foot tall Key West Lighthouse across the street.
