Smathers Beach
Another sandy beach to visit while you’re here is Smathers Beach. It’s located on the other side of the island from Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, so you’ll get a completely different view of the ocean from here.
Key West Lighthouse
While you can’t ride your golf cart rental to the top, you can ride it to the parking lot! Then you just have to climb the stairs to the top (88 of them). From here, you’ll have a panoramic view of the island, the sea, and the surrounding area. We recommend morning or evening for the most dramatic views, but any time of day is great for a visit.

While it might not be as dramatic as surveying the island from the top of the lighthouse, the Southernmost Point is a stunning view in its own right.
